The school Principal Sheila Cunliffe founded the school 25 years ago under the former names of 'Gower School of Ballet' and ' Sheila Ann Stage School '. At this time it operated from various venues, however since it's relocation to the centre of Swansea the school has gone from strength to strength.

Not surprisingly Sheila Cunliffe comes from a strong theatrical background. Her mother is a singer and younger sister a professional dancer and choreographer. She was born in Wigan and after training with Miss Fenn, a local dance teacher, travelled to both Swindon and London to further her teaching qualifications. Family commitments brought her to Swansea where she then decided to open her own dance school. Her first love is ballet and the high standards of ballet at the school, the importance placed on ballet training within the curriculum and the school's reputation for ballet locally are a reflection of this passion. In May 2006 Sheila decided that she would take on a more directorial role and continue to teach part time. Daughters Helen and Amelia are now happily rising to the challenge of taking the school into the future!
